Vancouver Montessori School

We moved from out of town where our children both went to Montessori preschool and thought this would be a nice school and convenient since our oldest would go to the neighboring Montessori Elementary (Cascadia). Unfortunately, our child did not like it there, but simply could not articulate why. He kept saying it was "boring" which is the last thing a Montessori environment should be. I talked to the staff, the teacher, I observed thru the window, I observed inside the class, and still could not pinpoint the problem. I finally switch him to another montessori school (Camas) and he loved it immediately - from Day 1. Bottomline - listen to you kid when they tell you their feelings. I'll never be sure what was wrong, but I think it was a combination of a bubbly teacher that leaned toward bubbly kids (not shy) and a weak (depressing) class assistant. NOt a good experience They wer rude and said our child did not fit in, REFUSED to refund our funds until the threat of leagal action. moved our child to public school and they instantly moved us up a grade where our child thrives HORIBLE EXPERIENCE

We are thrilled with the care and education our daughter receives at VMS! Any bumps in the road we have had, have been dealt with quickly and in a respectful manner. The classrooms are well stocked with Montessori material, and the community within the classroom is an important aspect of the school. The teachers love what they do and it shows! We plan on sending our younger child to VMS next year as well.

My child has been attending this school for two years, both in the toddler room and now in a preschool class. The teachers and staff are amazing! They see each child as a unique individual with unique needs. They are kind, patient, loving,w elcoming, and respectful. I love this school!

Great preschool, start your kids early in the toddler room! They take fantastic care of the kids, respect them and their families, are patient educators. Can't ask for more.

I love Vancouver Montessori School. Both of my children currently attend there. It is such a nurturing place for children. I feel completely comfortable leaving them there knowing they will be well cared for. I would highly recommend this school!

All three of my children have attended (youngest still there) Vancouver Montessori. Not only have they enjoyed it but the benefit is more than evident as they have continued their education in public school. What has impressed me the most is the teacher's involvement and concern with each child and a major focus in building the childs character.

I have had two children at VMS and can't say enough wonderful things about this school. VMS is well-run, the teaching is great, and the children are respected.

My daughter has been at VMS for three years now and I could not be happier. She is challenged academically, respected for who she is - her wonderful, unique, energetic self! - and really loved by the teachers and staff. I have had a great experience there as a parent. The administrators and teachers are all very communicative, respectful and available. This school was been wonderful for our son over other daycare/preschool environments. He is thriving in this calm, diverse and supportive setting. The outdoor play area and understanding of the value of unstructured play is great!
