My son is 2 1/2, he was there for 4-5 hours a day for only six days before I withdrew him. My reasons: the sippy cups were NEVER filled with fresh water, I made sure to clean and fill my son's before I left. Worst of all MY SON WAS ONLY CHANGED 2 TIMES OUT OF THE 6 DAYS HE WAS THERE! The staff never had a smile on their face, and I felt it wasn't a friendly or caring environment. I had a concern about my son's diapering supplies being used on other children because they were being gone through very fast, and he had only had his diaper changed twice. I brought my concern to the owner Sue Bernier, and she was very rude, she tried to brush it off, and then told me that they probably had to go through more of them because I had cheap supplies for my son, and then finally agreed to talk to her employees only because I wouldn't leave her office. I am very unsatisfied, and will never take my child back. The employees and owner are not caring towards the children, and are only concerned about their paychecks. Also, they didn't have very many toys for the children to play with, and the toys were filthy!
My 2 year old daughter has been to Busy Bear several times on a drop in basis. The teachers are wonderful and seem to really care about the kids...which to me is the most important thing. My daughter loves to go and gets excited when she sees the front door. She is never hungry nor does she appear to have been starved during the day. I have a niece and two nephews that attend daily and have for years.....they all love the staff and always get plenty to eat, drink, clean diapers and plenty of attention.
If i could rate busy bear less than 1 star, i would. I worked there for a short time and couldn't stand it. they left me in a room with 31 kids while 3 other teachers were gossiping. they dont feed the kids 2nds on their food, and the 1st serving is NOT enough. half of the kids go hungry because they dont like whats being served and there is no second choice. there is no punishment for the kids other than being told not to do something again. these kids throw/hit/kick and all because the 'teachers' let them get away with it. its an awful place to work, and even more awful that they have so many parents that trust them and leave their kids with them. these kids are great kids yet run wild at busy bear. DO NOT bring your children there. its NOT a good environment.
my son was bit 2 times in less then a month and the 2nd time they had to put ice on the shoulder. I as PARENT didn't get a call until I picked him up and saw the indecent report. and when I talked to the owner I was told "well bitting happens in day care centers" excuse... I dont tolerate my son being injured at the hands of ANY person I pulled him before from another site for being bit. Which proves I cant trust anyone to watch my son..
