It really saddens me to see such a negative review on Bright Beginnings. I don t normally feel compelled to write reviews, however, in this case I think it is necessary. When it comes to Bright Beginnings policy with unsafe winter conditions, I know for a fact that they only close according to the Ferndale School District. If the nearby school district decides it is unsafe for staff and children to be on the road then this center follows suite. I think it is unfair to criticize this facility over an issue that is so straightforward. When it comes to safety, the director must make a decision based on everyone, which includes the staff and all of the children. When it comes to issues like this, I have a different perspective than most reviews on here because I was a teacher at this center for nearly two years. Upon my graduation from WWU, I moved and therefore had to end my employment. Not only did I enjoy the staff I worked with but the center as a whole was great as well. I would definitely recommend this facility if you are looking for a nurturing and caring environment for your child.

Bright Beginnings is a very poorly managed facility. The Owner/Director is not accomadating and seems to have forgotten that she provides a service to parents who work and need to have their children watched so they can make money to support their families. She choose to close her facility due to adverse weather even though the roads were perfectly manageable for me in a to 2-wheel drive car, resulting in me losing two days pay. When I expressed my disapproval of her decision she told me that if I was unhappy with them that I should find another daycare. I am a single dad who works full-time and at one point she made a comment to me that she feels my daughter spends to much time at her facility and that I should see if I can find someone to pick her up earlier! I do not recommend this childcare provider to anyone unless you have a very flexible shedule and a lot of paid days off from work.
