The one regret of moving was having to leave what is now Montessouri at Samish Woods. It one thing to have teachers and and environment that encourage discovery, but also inspire a child to discover and learn themselves. Our daughter was always motivated and excited to go see what was in store the next day. Some of the closest relationships she has are still at that school.

Bayside Montessori has been a wonderful place for our children to be. Their creativity is valued. A peaceful atmosphere is a daily experience. The academics are strong and my children are excited to go to school every day.

Bayside's academics are superb, allowing children who excel in any given subject the chance to move ahead as quickly as they like, and allowing children who need extra help or review to have that extra attention. The classroom atmosphere and culture is supportive and caring and the teachers are very much in tune with the differences in learning styles and interests of the different children. There is a nice music program, lots of art work done, and for 4th-6th graders a p.e. program. The school is small though and does not provide a formal pe program for the younger elementary grades. The families at Bayside tend to be very involved in the school. there are opportunities for parents to participate in the classroom and to help out with things like driving kids to p.e. activities. The only downside is that it's costly, particularly with more than one child.
