When your child is away from you, you want to make sure your child is safe and happy; which in turn gives you peace of mind. And that is what I have found at Fiore Montessori. My daughter who joined Fiore at 18months of age, is not only safe and happy in this nurturing environment but thriving. She spends her time there constructively under the guidance of her teachers and enjoys with her peers. She has learnt skills beyond our expectations which make her independent and helps us as well. Through my interaction with the teachers I have learnt also how to bridge the gap between her school and home environment. I am glad that they are not just focused on making sure the child learns their Abc's and 123... but encourages them to be in tune with their natural curiosity of this world around them, to explore it, how to engage with it and be a wholesome part of it!
My daughter started school there since the summer and she had extreme seperation anxiety and would cry while being dropped to school, but in Fiore it vanished in just a few days and now she wants to go to school at nights and on the weekends. She loves it. She has gained much more independence and has started to communicate a lot. I look forward to read their daily updates everyday at the end of the day. She loves it when I talk to her and can relate to what she did at school because I get to read on what they did in the class everyday. We live in Herndon and it is a bit of a commute to drop her there but it is well worth it.
This school and Program is great!!!! My son loves going to his "new" school as he calls it. They let him explore and make his own choices and guide him through each excersise which enhance his learning. He has grown so much in this enviroment. They have helped him with his communication and social skills. I love their school set up as well. The fact that I don't see playing toys laying around but Learning excersise makes me happy because that's the type of thing my son loves to do. Also, they have a large outdoor area that the children, with supervision, are allowed to go to if they want. Everything they do and their approach is based on a learning opportunity for the child. My family have noticed the change in him as well and we are extremely happy!!
Fiore Montessori is an awesome place for preschoolers. Our kids (2 of them) get to enjoy learning activities in supervision of experienced staff. The activities change continuously, to challenge them as they are growing. The school serves fresh vegetables and fruits (only) for snack- and the children are involved in preparing snack, setting tables and washing up after-wards. There is a very large outdoor area (not playground) where children can enjoy activities such as digging, gardening and playing with toys. School administration is very open to listening to parents and coordinating with them to make it convenient.
We have been sending our toddler to Fiore since it opened in September and, without a doubt, it has been one of the best decisions we have made as parents. The teachers are Montessori-accredited as well as very gentle and compassionate toward the children and parents. They take parent concerns seriously and work with each child on his or her level. The learning environment is very cheerful, safe and stimulating. The provided snacks are very nutritious and help expose our child to new tastes and reinforce healthy eating habits. Whenever I drop my child off or arrive to pick-up, I am impressed with how calm the toddler classroom is, whether the children are eating lunch or working on individual projects. The teachers bring out new materials on a daily basis and also take the children outside to play in a large natural environment each day, rain or shine.
