Chesterbook Academy Great Falls Plaza is a great school with a few minor problems. My child has been there for two years and has really like every teacher so far with Mrs. Karen being a true stand out. Due to teacher staffing shortage, you sometimes have to seek out your child at pick up time because they'll have been sent to another classroom for an afternoon. I'd like to see more parent/teacher conference opportunities so I understand where my child is excelling and where they might need some extra work. By the time you pick up your child, the head teacher is usually gone for the day so the chance to ask questions about development is negligible. My final complaint is they do pictures four times a year and two sets of pictures within a month of each other which can make it quite expensive for parents who like to purchase the pictures. If you're going to do pictures four times a year, it should be spread out quarterly (the pictures from Portrait Cafe are very expensive ($100+ conservatively) and are taken within a month of the Lifetime pictures. You also have to pay for Portrait Cafe picture the very day they are taken).

My son has been attending this school for 3 years now as a day care. Management, especially Ms. Trish and Ms M was very helpful with any problem I had approached with. This is not my first child and I have seen several daycares but I have to say the principle makes the biggest difference in schools. We had great teachers especially Ms Karen, made such a difference in my sons life. He loves coming to school and hugs her every morning. He feels safe and secure and this enhances his learning capacity as well. Classrooms are clean and the curriculum is great. The only thing I am concerned is that the teacher turnover is little often. I would recommend it to other parents with Miss Trish as a principle.
