As a military family we move a lot, and its very important to find a good school in the new area. This is a school I can trust. The small class size is perfect . There's something to be said about how much these children are learning at such a young age... The teachers are excellent, the curriculum is challenging. I would highly recommend this school.
Great school! My son went there for kindergarten and first grade. He got such a great start there that when he moved to a public school, they allowed him to skip the grade in math. Small classes. Children have a busy day there.
My daughter has been attending this school for over a year now. I can't say anything but the great things about this school. The teachers are caring, attentive, genuinely care and worry about kids. I don't understand where the bad review about the school came from, possibly a single incident and there are always 2 sides to the story... I can speak for my family and my daughter, we are very happy we chose RKH and our daughter is happy to go there every single day.
We had a great experience at this school. The curriculum might be a bit unstructured compared to a typical public school where "no child is left behind" but they cover a lot of material well above and beyond grade level like multiplication in kindergarten. My child didn't necessarily understand it all but it certainly didn't hurt to expose them to math concepts above their grade level. They learn to write in cursive in K while typical public school students still practice their A's and B's. Their second graders test into Fairfax county gifted and talented. And of course learning Russian is never a bad thing.
They claim to be a school...I do not know how the county allows this 'school' to exist be. This business is so unprofessional - the teachers there do not have a proper, professional education. What s more they do not know how to teach. One teacher there, claiming to be a director of this place, does such a lame job! We always checked with our kid on subjects and got not much difference through the year. If their director is doing such a job , what then the others? We barely waited until the academic year ended to transfer our child to another school, as some others done in the past. The overall learning process is jumpy and not consistent. As many times we asked, they do not show the curriculum - it just does not exist.
Great school for kids who want to learn russian language. This is full-time day care with kindergarden up to grade 1. They have Saturday and Sunday program too. Also art and craft classes on the weekend.
