Before the new school year begins we would like to recognize an AMAZING teacher, Ms. Millicent Stewart, who taught our daughter at Mount Hermon Preschool Center for the 2015-2016 school year. Ms. Stewart is an awesome teacher whose passion for teaching is clear by the way she makes learning a FUN and POSITIVE experience. Our daughters interests were broadened beyond "Dolls" and "Dress Up" by introducing her to topics such as gardening, animal habitats, dinosaurs, community helpers and many more. We especially loved Ms. Stewart teaching her SIGN LANGUAGE, something our daughter shows great interest in even after school has ended. Making each student feel IMPORTANT and RECOGNIZED is very important to Ms. Stewart, she encouraged her students to help each other learn, while learning themselves. Our daughter was assigned as a Success Coach for another student, helping him made her feel fantastic and confident in herself. Ms. Stewart takes the TIME to get to know each child and helps them be their BEST, teaching ABOVE and BEYOND what is expected. Everyday she encouraged her students with the Class Motto, "I Believe In Me and I Can Do It, I'm An Intellectual Ingenious Student!" Students in her class were always greeted with a smile and kind words to start the day. Whenever an issue arose between students she would have the children involved go on a !PEACE PATH!....they would explain what the issue is, talk it out, apologize, shake hands or hug and go about their day (seeing this was amazing!) In doing this it taught them to OVERCOME conflict and FORGIVE in a POSITIVE way. We are so PROUD of our daughter and all of her accomplishments and are very excited for those yet to come. We are thankful that our child had the opportunity to be a part of the Mount Hermon Preschool family. We thank Ms. Stewart for creating an environment of enthusiasm for learning, appreciation for growing, and room for making mistakes along the way. Teachers like her build a FOUNDATION of learning and we are glad our daughter got to experience that through her, LEADING by EXAMPLE. Where ever Ms. Stewart will end up in the future, any SCHOOL or STUDENT would be very BLESSED to have such a great teacher. To Ms. Stewart we say to YOU, YOU have the POWER to MOLD generations, IMPACT minds, and make the world a BETTER place....THANK YOU for giving our LITTLE one BIG Dreams!!!!

I LOVE this school and everything about it!!! My daughter attended school for the 2015-2016 year and our lives have changed for the better. Before entering school my daughter struggled with her speech and doctors were telling me she may be dyslexic. Well im here to say it loud and proud my daughter scored above average on each task for her Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening for Preschool (PALS)! She also scored a 200 out of 200 on her Math assessment. All of this was possible because of one of the most passionate teachers i have ever met Ms.Millicent Stewart!!! Everything this woman did was for her children not only did she teach the curriculum she went over and beyond teaching sign language, Spanish, my daughter can count to 100, do simple math problems, also making sure everyday your child walked in the classroom they said " I believe in me and I can do it". Teaching the children not only to love themselves but each other to treat each person with respect at all times. Ms.Stewart would say its one thing to teach but she wanted a culture of not only students but parents learning and being involved on this journey for OUR future because the CHILDREN are the FUTURE!! So from a parent who thought her child would be pushed to the side and put in a class where she couldn't blossom it is truly a blessing for my child to have had Ms.Stewart as a teacher I am no longer worried about weather or not she has a strong foundation because i know she does!! Not only that but she gave her whole class scholarships I can't find a better teacher. My four year will be attending this year in September and i hope and pray she has Ms.Millicent Stewart! M.T. Hermon Preschool is very lucky to have her as a teacher!!!!!

I had to the privilege of being a visitor at this Pre School. Dr. Smith is such a wonderful leader of this body of profound and outstanding teachers. One classroom in particular that I was so intrigued with was Ms. Millicent Gavin Stewarts class. Just to see those students being taught sign language by Tiffany and now Spanish. Oh let me not forget their mannerism and learning abilities whether you or I thought that they couldn't comprehend. If I had a younger child starting out this is where I would send my child. The staff at this school are close like family and they take care of one another. Whatever they need to keep soaring funding or anything I hope that they get it because they do deserve it for growth.

This is the first school our son ever attended...Let's just say I was worried about him going because I thought it would be too much on him. Today is 10 days before he is to graduate and he is now speaking Spanish, reading, writing his name, numbers, words etc., he is able to count to 100, add, subtract and count by 5's,10's and so on. This was the best thing that could have happened to us. My child wears glasses, has allergies and is of a controversial religion, but has been treated fairly all year long. His birthdate kept him from starting elementary school at age 5 but Mt Hermon Preschool Center gave him the head start he needs to be successful in Kindergarten this coming year. I can't thank Dr. Smith, Mrs. Gerron and Ms. Courtney enough. Not only would I recommend your child attend but I will be sending our 4 year old there next year.

When I was told that my kid had to go there (I arrived to the area in July when the preschool center he had to attend was already full) I couldn't be more deceived: the area was not nice at all... Now that we are in the 3rd quarter, I cannot be more happy. The Principal Dr. Smith is the best principal ever, she is actively involved in every aspect of the center: every morning she says good morning - buenos dias to everybody, she personally works with the kids teaching them how to read trillion figures (yes, TRILLION) and takes personal care of everything. The teachers are wonderful. My kid now hates weekends because he cannot go to school. The school facilitates parent involvement and is continuously organizing activities for everybody. My kid is only 4 years old and is able to read, add, subtract and even multiply. This is a wonderful school, in fact is the BEST preschool center I have seen.

Mt Hermon Preschool Center of Excellence is truly a school of excellence!!! My daughter has excelled at this school. They have a great faculty and staff. The first thing I noticed about the school was its cleanliness. The teachers and administrators are great!!!They highly promote parent participation. Thanks so much, Mt. Hermon staff, for all that you do. Please continue to operate in excellence!!!

I had an opportunity to send my daughter to this public preschool and am so happy with the results! This is a well-organized, clean, safe environment where the kids can learn and still be kids. Holiday programs, science fairs, trips to the circus and learning how to read are all part of this great introduction to school. I have not doubt my daughter has been well-prepared for kindergarten. Thanks to the faculty and staff! Highly recommend Mount Hermon!

My daughter started reading after only being at this school for a couple months. I will be sending my son there when he is 4 years old.
