This school has been a wonderful fit for us. My 3 year old attended 3 days a week and attended summer camp too. He often stayed after for lunch and after care and was disappointed when he had to come home. This is the only school I know of that provides hourly after care that you can use but are not obligated to a commitment. So helpful for unpredictable schedules. Staff is great with separation anxiety, providing hugs and holding when necessary. I loved the religious component which was interwoven throughout but not overbearing. Great playgrounds and great mix of free-play with instructional/one-on-one time. Building is ultra-secure. New director seems very good and teachers we had were excellent. Parents involved but not close-knit. We will greatly miss First Pres when we leave.

I am a retired secondary teacher. I am pleased wthi the academic program that this school promotes. It is a pleasure bringing my second grandson to this school. I find the teachers to be excellent and definitely patient. My three year old grandson loves this school. His brother is currently in the first grade at W.H. Taylor Elementary School and is an outstanding student. I highly recommend this school.

Safe, friendly environment. Most teachers are great. School system is run in a fairly disorganized manner. Very poor parking situation.

If I could give First Presbyterian 100 stars I would. Lucy Gates and her team set the bar extremely high. The teachers are all loving, compassionate, fun and friendly. I must reiterate what another reviewer has already said of First Pres, 'The school offers a nice balance of fun, academics, spirituality and nurturing. I only wish the school continued beyond Kindergarten. We love and miss this school so much!'

This school is a family away from family for my three daughters. Each has started in the 'ones' (Ms. Sokol and Ms. Vici) and progressed through (minus a time overseas). The teachers are wonderful and dedicated to the children. The teachers love their work and it shows! My two oldest daughters have done Kindergarten, with the QUEEN of teaching Mrs. Merritt. She is brilliant! What EVERY teacher SHOULD be! Cathy makes learning fun! The school is a nurturing, loving place, where each person, from student to teacher is loved, cherished and appreciated. I think one of the best things is they practice what they teach ('preach'). Gods love is surrounding each pupil. I know that when I leave my children they are WHERE THEY want to be, they are safe & happy, with teachers that love them. As an earlier post said, my only regret is that K is the end!

Both of our daughters attend. Loving teachers, fun and safe play area. Good security. As new members to the community we give this school an A+.

We have two of our girls in various classes and we love this school. The teachers are involved, very loving and care about the students like their own. Our girls can't wait to return each day. Lucy Gates does a great job running the school. Kudos to Shelly Moore, Susan Brown and Joanne Warner.

I can't say enough about the quality of this school. Lucy Gates and Susan Parker are both wonderful; the teachers are dedicated and loving, and parent involvement is welcomed and top-notch. The school offers a nice balance of fun, academics, spirituality and nurturing. I only wish the school continued beyond Kindergarten. We love and miss this school so much!

Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students.
