Both my 2nd grade daughter and 4 year old son LOVE Winwood and look forward to going to "school" each day. Their teachers are patient, well educated and nurturing and management is always friendly, knowledgable and has a genuine concern for each and every child that attends this school. It's amazing to see how much my children have grown and continue to grow at Winwood. We are very happy at Winwood Leesburg!
We have not been pleased with Winwood. We feel that we spend a lot of money so that our child can be in a classroom that is overcrowded and the teachers are always in a state of "crowd control". Although the teachers are very nice, morale seems to be low. The director always seems overwhelmed and stressed out and it seems that she is in over her head. We are currently looking for another option for our child. We were hoping that our child would learn something at Winwood. We were mislead during our initial interview and were told that there would be learning but this is not the case. It is unfortunate as it is truly a nice facility but we feel that it is obvious management has their hands full.
My son attends the Winwood Center in Leesburg. Let me first state that I love my son's teacher but the management is horrible. Ever since my son started Winwood he has been sick a lot, in and out of the doctor's office. That's to be expected because he was home up until that time. My concern is that 3 or 4 weeks ago when my son was sick, his doctor wrote a note to the school telling them that my son can not play outside in this cold weather because he has lung problems. He had to be on a nebulizer for 3 plus weeks while taking antibiotics. After handing the doctor's note to the school and informing everyone, the next day the Director ignored the doctor's note and the advice of her staff and still sent my son outside to play in the cold weather. My son had a relapse and had to go back to the doctor, when I told his doctor what happened she was very upset that her note for his care was ignored. I pay a lot of money to have my son attend Winwood and expect better service where it comes to the health and safety of my child.
