My daughter has been going to Minnieland at Centreville Square since she was 10 weeks old. The teachers are top notch and the administration provides a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. They have a strong curriculum academically, socially, and developmentally. The Director and Associate Director have a genuine passion for the students. My son goes there now as well. He had horrible reflux and spit up many times a day. As a result, they had to change their clothes multiple times a day and they never complained about it. My daughter is now in Jr. kindergarten. Her teachers are the BEST! One morning as I was dropping my kids off, her teacher was coming in with nearly a dozen large bags. She was bringing stuff in from her house to set up a store so the kids to go "shopping" and practice math skills. As a further testimony to the strength of the school, nearly all of the students in my daughter's current class have been together since they were in the infant room - many of whose parents drive out of their way to take them to this center. I felt compelled to add this review because the isolated instances in the other reviews just don't give this center the credit they deserve.
Horrible horrible experience...one evening my husband went to pick our 18 month old son up and the director told him that he wasn't there. After running through all the classrooms searching for him, he was found in the 3 year old classroom unaccounted for. Brings tears to my eyes that this happened-we dis enrolled him immediately.
I brought my daughter to this school for a total of 4 months, starting at the age of 1 year 5 months old. Although I found the classroom teachers to be sweet and caring, my daughter did not do well in this environment. The facility overall was understaffed, and had all age groups together in the early mornings until enough staff arrived for them to be separated. Also, she was sick all the time! I had to "un-enroll" because I was getting called to pick her up early on average 3 times a week. I never got enough hours into work, I would have to pay for the entire week regardless AND on top of all that my poor little girl was miserable all the time. A common cold running through the school is one thing, but being sick all of the time indicates they needed better cleaning practices. When a complaint was made to management, they seemed to care less about customer satisfaction. So, in their response, I took my business elsewhere. I entered a nanny share and my daughter is thriving. For the reputation Minnnieland has in this area, I was disappointed with this location. Overall, beware of over crowded classrooms that harbor infection.
