I felt the need to update on the April 2011 commenter. The ratio of the infant room was 1 to 3, not 1 to 2 as posted. Unfortunately, the center is just now changing to the legal 1 to 4 ratio and I'm worried about what this says about the direction of the school. I'm especially upset as the ratio was the sole reason we chose this school over another. The staff is all very friendly, but I'm worried management is turning it's focus to money instead of what's best for the children.
We drive out of our way to take our daughter to this center full of great teachers and leadership. The tenure of many of the instructors is exceptional and is far different from the experience of my friends who have so much turnover to deal with which is difficult for the child. The ratio of instructor to child is also far better than what is required and the reason we selected the school in the first place. We've seen that the attention really allows them to cater to our daughters developmental needs. Everything is done with her personality and temperment in mind. My child's curriculum began when she entered the school at 4 mos and it has been incredible watching what is written on paper turn into developmental milestones.
Incredible parent involvement powers this place. Owner is aloof and a bit stand-offish at times, but she hires good leadership and good teachers. One teacher for every Two infants (as opposed to the required 1-to-3) means your infant gets held and loved and socialized.
