Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I'm surprised at all the negative comments concerning this school, particularly the ones directed at the owner and/or director. We have had two children (3 and 4 yrs old) at this school and have not encountered negative or abusive behaviour and we have had plenty of interaction with the staff. The school is clean and well equipped. The teachers are caring and trained. Some are better than others. Those that are deficient usually do not remain employed very long. My only complaint is that during the school year the class size is farily large, almost 30 kids in the 3,4, 5 yr old rooms. At times there isn't enough teachers to handle all situations. Our 4 year old, loves the school and his teachers and enjoys being with his friends everyday. Our 3 year old went throught a biting period and the staff was very understanding and worked with us until he grew out it after a couple of weeks. No one has ever been rude or unprofessional. The school provides many external activities such as football, basketball, piano and gymnastics.

Let me start by saying... This used to be a wonderful daycare. However, this is not the case any longer. My daughter started Children's lighthouse (Alamo Ranch) when she was 24 months. I loved it, she loved it, I thought it was such a great place. Last fall things started to change fast, all the good teachers other employees started to leave, the structure in the classrooms was gone, the type of people that were being hired were your more less desirable people. The new director looked like she was from the other side of town, me and several other parents were like... what's going on here. When my daughter moved to the 4yr old room she started to tell me she did not want to go to daycare anymore, she said... I just don't like it there mommy. Not long after that we were talking at bedtime and she said... I don't want to go to school anymore, when I asked why, she said because they all hate me. I said who hates you? and she told my the name of the teacher that told her, I hate you. My daughter never went back and I withdrew her a few days later. 5 parents I know removed their child from this place for their own reasons, Very unprofessional on all levels. Stay away!!!

This used to be a great place for young kids however the management staff including the owners are very challenging to work with and the staff has very high turnover. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

What started out as a great experience for our granddaughter (age 2 ) at Children s Lighthouse Learning Center (CLLC) at Alamo Ranch went downhill since last Fall. Her class has had four different head teachers in six months. She is no longer excited about what she has done in the classroom each day, and says she does not want to go to school. She also said she did not want to go to her present classroom. We have since found out that she was not the only one afraid of going to this classroom, and that this particular classroom was being used as the punishment room for those from her previous classroom that misbehaved. Our daughter expressed her concerns to both the owner and the director. The discovery of the punishment room was the final straw, and our daughter put in her two weeks notice. The day after turning in her notice, our daughter was asked not to bring her back. She was not allowed to finish her two weeks. Not even her teachers knew. This was an unprofessional, immature, and vindictive course of action on the part of CLLC s administration. It is clear that CLLC is not at the moment committed to the well-being, education, and happiness of the children enrolled there.

Don't be fooled! The director here is completely unprofessional!! I've overheard her talking about very inappropriate things. Other parents that I have talked to agree. I have personally heard her talking about a specific parent in a rude way then turn around and be nice to their face. The staff up front are never working, they are always gossiping or surfing the web. I would watch my child on camera get treated pretty badly which is why i pulled them out. Terrible place, and I mean the WORST place to send your child to. I feel awful for the teachers with that kind of management and the owners don't know squat on how to run a center. Its no wonder the teachers keep on leaving and the poor kids who have to adjust to THEM! I can sincerely say save your childrens education that is just so important in the early years, and send them elsewhere.

This school would have gotten a 5 star rating except it is VERY expensive. That being said, I pay the tuition because of the great job the teachers do. I know them all and feel like they all genuinely love my children. I have 2 and they cry when they DONT get to go! Cheers to Mrs. Alyssa who's amazing!

This school is a fine example of what early childcare should be. The staff is very caring, the owners are always available for the parents and there is a sincere feeling of care from all we have dealt with. My child has grown a great deal thanks to Childrens Lighthouse - we could not be happier. My school age child (5 years old)left their center and started kindergarten reading at a second grade level. Great Place.

This is the worse center my child ever attended. We now have a school-aged child dealing with the consequences of the damage caused by this center.

My children (5 and 2) have been here for over a year. We love the teachers and staff as well as the faculty.
