Daffodils Preschool was the best choice we could have made for our little one! The classroom environment encourages curiosity and learning through exploration, and the teachers are amazing with kids. Their Pre-K Reading Program was so effective that my son loves to cuddle up with a book every night!
My son loved every single day he went there and is more than ready for kindergarten after theirPre-K program.
So glad we found this school!
I would recommend every prospective parent to go tour the school to see for themselves what a wonderful program they have. I have visited many schools and had my children in 2 different preschools (one was a daycare and one a montessori) and was very frustrated by the staff turnover and lack of routine. The directors were hardly ever present. At daffodils we found a perfect fit. The director is hands on, there is a surprisingly low staff turnover. You can tell the owners and directors have a passion for education. They hardly advertise and mostly rely on referrals and word of mouth and that is how we found out about them. It is obvious that the school is being run by people who have a vision and passion for education and children and not as a money making business. This reflects in their teachers , in their educational philosophy and the success of the children when they start kindergarten. We have absolutely loved daffodils, and we are blessed to have found it in our community.
When we first toured, we thought this would be a great fit for us, but after a few months, we noticed that there's a lot of mistakes being brushed under the rug. The teachers smile, but if you pay attention enough you can tell they are not happy there. The director does not care about the children, this is a money making business for her. I recently found out that she has chosen not to have children herself. Why on earth would you open a daycare/preschool then? Just makes me wonder! There are too many good schools in the area to settle on this one.
Daffodils is a great school! My son started attending preschool here last Fall as we were new to the area. He had previously attended a wonderful montessori so we had high expectations. Not only are the teachers friendly, they truly are vested in my child's education. The Montessori method combined with the Waldorf Approach leads to a great, well rounded, curriculum. My son is learning concepts that are beyond preschool level. He enjoys the cooking lessons, art and science projects, yoga and Spanish lessons, and the Funbus. I love the variety of experiences that he is exposed to. I would highly recommend this school.
Daffodils has been a terrific pre-school for our son to attend. It came highly recommended to us 3 years ago from 2 previous families (both with 2 children there). He loves it. We cannot say enough good things about the teachers and their dedication to the children. It has been a blessing to find this school in McKinney.
We brought our 2 yr old son to Daffodils after many glowing recommendations from family friends. After only a few months, this school and its teachers exceeded our expectations. We saw instant improvement in our son's speech and grammar. The varied curriculum keeps him engaged and excited to learn every day. Now 4, our son has a keen grasp of letters, numbers, science, and nutrition. We are so thrilled with his overall progress that we can't wait to start his 2 yr old sister at Daffodils this fall.
If you're looking for a Montessori school to enroll your child in, this is not the place. If you are familiar with the method ( as you should be if you are enrolling your child in such a program) just shadowing for an hour will help you realize that this organization is merely some place to leave your kids while you're at work. The Montessori method is rarely, if ever, implemented. Most of your child's time will be spent waiting in line or taking a nap. Teachers are not well trained nor does there seem to be enough of them. Keeping the teacher to student ratio in mind, all too often one teacher is left with more than 9 toddlers at a time, which is not only unsafe, but illegal. On a more personal note, the teachers are not very friendly or warm when parents exit the school. They are not passionate about what they do, they are only there for a paycheck. My advice is to do your research when you look into this institution, as they are not who and what they claim to be. I would also ask them if there has ever been a case filed against them, legally, they are obligated to release that information.
Both of my children were at Daffodils Pre-School from 18months-5 years. The teachers are wonderful and the curriculum helped my children get off to a fast start in kindergarten. I highly recommend Daffodils!
I love Daffodil's. We have been going there since my little girl was in the nursery. Both of my kids attend there and we have been very happy. Choosing a daycare is one of the hardest decisions I had to make and I have been very pleased. The staff and teachers feel like family to me and treat our kids like that. Additionally, we are extremely pleased with both of our kids progression through the Montessori program. My 5 year old is already reading and her math skills are impressive for her age level. The school offers all the extras that you usually have to pay for like Spanish, Fun Bus, Music, Yoga & computers. It's already included so they have a very well rounded program. I highly recommend this school.
Daffodils Pre-school stands head and shoulder above any pre-school in the Mckinney/Frisco area. The entire staff, from teachers to administration are genuinely engaged and truly care about education and the nurturing of our children. I had not realized that difference until I enrolled my girls at Daffodils having left a previous montessori school due to dissatisfaction on my part with the teachers/staff and their lack of interest in educating the kids. Daffodils is a Montessori pre-school where the approach to education is noticeably first class. My only regret is that I didn't enroll my kids here sooner.
