The owner is very good about "selling" her school and it looks great from the outside but in reality she is really only there from 9-noon and the rest of the time she is on the phone, speaking with parents or doing other adminstrative work. There is only one other Montessori-trained teacher and he only works until nap time. He is wonderful but he is basically in charge of educating 30 children! After a LOT of playground time and a two-hour nap, the aids who come in the afternoon are not allowed to offer Montessori education. The owner is extremely defensive and combative. She expects parents to come and do mandatory landscaping work all day twice a year, mandatory parent meetings to talk about what parents should contribute. Parents are required to purchase ALL new supplies for the school and the snacks. Educational supplies are even "donated" to the school by parents. No standard teaching is offered... our daughter was four and still had not traced one letter or could even write her name. I really had the wool pulled over my eyes here, as many other parents have. It is really a daycare, outside of the one Montessori teacher who was very dedicated.

La Casa dei Bambini Kyle Montessori was not a good experience for my child or my family. The parent/teacher communication is minimal and there were several times when I was not alerted of very concerning behavior and situations for long periods of time.I felt that the disiplinary techniques used were very questionable and are my biggest complaint. I have a highly energetic child who has great difficulty winding down and going down to take naps. Rather than working with my child the staff woud physically hold my child to the floor in an attempt to force him to take a nap. This technique would not help my child to calm down and take a nap, but quite understandably, would have the opposite effect. The means of restraining as dicipline was admited and can not be argued. After much thought and prayer I felt an obligation to share this information. As a parent, I do not want to see any other child go through what my child went through.

My daughter has been a student at LCDB Montessori for over 2 years and has gained valuable lessons on caring for others in her community, caring for our planet (animals and plants included here!). She has been engaged in developmental work AND play that is preparing her for greater educational growth and success in years to come. The staff are caring, bilingual, and dedicated to healthy growth and education. This school has made a great difference in our lives in such a short amount of time!

I have been a parent at the school for almost 7 years. The incredible sense of community created by its founder, Chiquie is remarkable. For parents concerned with raising socially responsible citizens as well as academically gifted children this is the perfect environment.

My son (2.5 years old) is currently a student at La Casa Dei Bambini and he enjoys it so much! The montessori approach, especially for this school age, is perfect for creating a positive learning environment. The teachers are fantastic, most importantly they are trustworthy and you can see they love the children very much! It is truly an extension of our family!
