Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

It is much different from Humble ISD, but not my favorite. There is no library or computers for the kids in NFISD which is a true disadvantage to our black youth.

It is a good school. It gives your child a head start at an early age.

My son began attending Thurgood in August 2004; and it pleases me to say that there is no better institution for children of his age. I would sincerely recommend this school to anyone who has children between the ages of 3-5 and looking for a school to enroll their child(ren). Not only are my wife and I enchanted with the teaching professionalism demonstrated daily by his teacher, Ms. Stancil, but we are just as much impressed with the school's philosophy of simultaneously encouraging each child's diligence in the classroom and promoting strong character by encouraging each child to be as self-dependent as possible. - Charles Edrick Neal, Sr. (Impressed Parent)

My daughter attended PreK3-K. I was very pleased with all of her teachers. Mrs.Escoffrey (PreK3),Ms.Brown(PreK4) and Ms.Ray(Kgtn) were the best in my opinion. I am pleased with the education my daughter received at this school. I liked the parent/teacher programs offered. The school offer a variety of extra-curricular activity that every child could participate in.
