I love the look and feel of the school. My son thinks all the teachers are magical. I am very impressed with the staff in how they create a safe and nurturing environment for all the kids. Thanks

I started my job at Clear Lake Montessori since it went under new managment. I am very impressed with the new owner, she has been renovating the school and buying new equipment for several of the classrooms. She is working very hard to make this school the best it can be and I am excited to be a part of it. I would highly recommend that you take a look at the school and meet the new owner, talk with the new office staff and teachers. It is a wonderful environment with low child to teacher ratio. The teachers are certified montessori teachers with an average of sixteen year experience. Hope to see you there!

My child went to this school for a few months then left. The teacher seems ok. But I feel the facility and management was below average of any private school/day care. Some problems I saw : 1 - safety issue, there is no passcode or locked door for the entrance, everyone can enter this school. This is really an issue during the end of day, basically ANYONE may enter the building and take your child away; There was someone supposed to sit in the front desk. But a lot time I went in and found nobody was there. 2 - too much TV during the summer. In summer, there is no program for the kids to keep them busy except TV. At least from what I saw, when I drop my kids off in the morning, other kids were sitting on the floor watching TV, same thing when I picked him up in the afternoon. When I asked the kid about his day, all I was told was watching TV. 3 - unfriendly staff. They are not very responsively on your questions, and not very friendly either. All they care about is your POCKET. Stay away from this place.

This is a great school that has a long time reputation and great teachers. TThe students have low ratios' and the school communication is friendly and consistant. The principal is interested in constant improvement and struggles with trying to improve things without raising prices. The PTO has tried to help with this burden. All in all I think this is a great school with lots of potential to continue improving.

I read the other two parent reviews here, and i could'nt disagree more the only thing I do agree with was the two great teacher comment. There is no tension between the management and staff other than the typical frustration of working from a distance when the Principal was out on maternity leave. I think that people often forget that teachers and management have lives like the rest of us parents and forget to cut them a break when they are doing the best they can in a difficult situation. I have personally gotten to know some of the staff and management and I know they try very hard to do all the right things for the kids. The staff are focused, attentive and human. What better place for my child. A view of the real world.

Two teachers that have been with Clear Lake over 5 years and they are great. One is in the toddler room and the other in the infant room, but the management hinders the good work they try to do. On several occasions, the management has been untruthful, and non-responsive to safety items concerning the playground and classroom. Clear Lake Montessori has been the only day care our child has know and we are sad to leave, but the tension between staff and management/owner is showing in our child actions. We and other parents have left Clear Lake Montessori for these reasons.

This school appeared to be wonderful at first when the original person who started the school was still in charge, but the school started to take a rapid downhill spiral when she retired. The facilities are small and the teachers for pre-K and K had trouble realizing that my son learned that if he just said that he didn't know something they would think he didn't know instead of giving a little push. Really didn't communicate very well with the parents very well.
