We have been at FUMP/K for 4 years and can't begin to say enough about our whole experience. The comfort in knowing your children are looked after and taught in such a loving, supportive, creative, all encompassing way is what we all want for our children. And to see your children be so excited to go to school and to hear them everyday say how much fun they had just confirms our decision to be there. Go see this little hidden gem of Brownsville for yourself!

I have two children that have been attending F.U.M.P for 2 and 3 years. I cannot say enough wonderful, positive things about this early childhood education program!! The absolute joy on my children's faces when they go to school in the mornings and when I pick them up in the afternoon says it all! Through each and every year, I have felt comfortable talking with each teacher about any issues or questions I may have. If you are thinking about F.U.M.P for your child, take the time to go and observe and /or talk to the director and teachers. It gives me much peace and confidence in my children knowing that they are playing and having fun while learning very important life skills to prepare them for their future in elementary. If you want a church sponsored community, a beautiful nature classroom, top-notch learning while they play and great staff for little ones all the way through kinder, you will be more than happy here. My children love this school and their teachers.

My daughter attended pre-k 3-4 and kindergarten at this school and is thriving in her education. I know numerous parents whose children have attended and they have nothing but great things to say about this school. While I have full confidence in this school, I encourage anyone who wants to learn more to show up there unannounced. I think you will like what you see.

For those using this outlet to seek a preschool, please stop in and see what you think. We work very hard to have open and honest relationships. Our days with the children and each other are filled with so much joy! Generations of memories can be had. We are at 40 years and counting! I especially invite you to stop in and share your successes. Mrs. Helen Kaufmann Vargas / Director

This school is not 100% perfect nor is it 100% bad. It is up to us as parents to take responsibility for our childrens education, especially when they're struggling. We must first work with the teacher then the Director/Principal. Some parents at FUMP were faced with this and hit a brick wall, others have done it and are very pleased and rave about their experience. Based on my own PERSONAL experience, I cannot recommend this school. They told me there were cognition/sensory/motor issues with my child and wanted me to have him evaluated. I prayed on it, transferred my child to another school where he still attends and is currently in Gifted & Talented classes. I thank Jesus for giving me the strength to have faith in what I knew about my childs potential. While early intervention is important, labeling and evaluating children too early because they don't fit a certain mold is dangerous and irresponsible. Have faith in yourself as a parent, have faith in Jesus, and most of all have faith in your children.

I totally disagree with previous rate. I had grandchildren who have attended this preschool for the last 10years and each one of them have excelled in their studies. Yes it did take parent involvement from very early in their years. The school really prepared them to be their best and that is what we wanted. The teachers there have always been excellent and the portfolios that they hand us at the end of each year are excellent. They keep us informed on the progress of our children and grandchildren. I did stay involved with my grandchildren throughout their formative years. It's a shame that many parents don't. The staff there do care from the director on down. I will continue to encourage my children to send the remaining grandchildren to this school and will encourage other families to do so.
