Lake Murray Child Development Center is a preschool located in Lexington, South Carolina.
The school community has reviewed this preschool and given it an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
I have two children enrolled here & I'm actually surprised at the negative reviews. My children are happy, loved, & well taken care of. When they're sick the facility has protocols in place to break up the spread of infection in the classrooms---which is the kind of attentiveness I appreciate. My daughter enrolled w/ some speech difficulties, we let the staff know, & her teachers committed to working in partnership w/ her speech therapist. A month after enrollment she was speaking clearly enough to leave speech therapy. I'm sorry for the ones who say they've had a bad experience. But you can't expect change if you don't address issues directly &/or you expect to treat the staff like 'the help' rather than partners in the care of your children. This is our third daycare and my kids are always excited about going.
Sorry, it should be 4 stars, not 3 stars as my review says. I would have given the place 5 stars, but because of their lunch / menu served I only give it 4
I have 3 children. My oldest has been there since they opened, and they love it there. What parent hasn't had issues with something. All anybody needs to do is talk with the director to resolve anything. I did say talk to the director not talk at or show disrespect because as soon as you do that, who cares what you think, you can leave. I go in unannounced and the teachers are teaching and playing with my kids. As far as the cameras go. Why would you need to go back that far. If you have an issue you should have asked to see the video the next day and not wait so long. Sounds like you are just an unhappy person who wants to blame someone, get real.....
Lake Murray Child Develpment Center is exactly the same now as it was last year when the previous parent wrote their review. The facilities appear very nice and parents are led to believe that their children will recieve this great early education and development, when in fact the center is nothing more than any old day care that poorly teaches children. They have poorly designed menus for young children (under 2) and rarely stick to the menu. The teachers rarely interact with the students more than to tell them that they should "Stop!" doing something. They advertise that negative discipline is used and that they redirect children, when in fact all they do is yell at the children. Turnover is high, which creates a very difficult environment for a child to learn anything at all. Don't enroll your child here if under 3 years old for sure!!!!
Lake Murray Child development center is a wonderful looking facility but the quality of child care leaves something to be desired. They do not provide whole milk for students 2 and under as recommended. If you want your child to whole milk, you must provide it. The meals are not well balanced. An example menu would be egg salad sandwiches and potato chips. Nutrition is the most important part of childcare especially starting at age 12 months. The rates are high end and therefore they should providing high end services. Because I decided to use another provider and not continue to pay them, they ended the childcare services two days early after receiving payment for the entire week. While the caregivers were great, the adminstrative staff lacks compassion and professionalism.
