A year ago I would have given Shandon 5 stars for their afterschool, summer and FT daycare but since I've relied on greatschools.org for several reviews over the years, and my child has spent most of the year in their accredited kindergarten program, I wanted to share. I now believe these specific teachers lack the training and expertise to truly guide a parent if their child has any mild to moderate learning challenges. This is NOT the "school" to pay for if you expect any guidance or compassion when your child may not fit the "norm". I have had to suggest to them, including the director, that perhaps my child needs testing or additional time to perform the writing or tasks they ask of all students (until he could be tested). Outside of this specific class, many staff have very good and kind intentions and we do believe have the children's best interests at heart to keep them safe and to have fun. But I would look elsewhere for a private kindergarten program where your expectations are much much higher.

This school is amazing. I have had 2 children there for school year and summer programs. They teach them and expose them to new and interesting things. It is not merely a daycare/ holding cell. Both my children love it.
