I did a lot of research before choosing a preschool for my kids for Summer 2011, and really liked this facilty, that they had cameras, and it was relatively affordable. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the teachers - they were very VERY uncaring. The 4s/VPK teacher barely acknowledged my when I went to drop off my son. My 2 yr old cried every day for drop off, even weeks after being in the school. And they watched TV all the time. After one month I decided to take them out. What finally did it was that I dropped off my son a bit late one day, around 10 a.m., b/c we had a DR appt in the morning, and when I went to his class (young 4s/VPK), the teachers were all sitting around chatting about nonsense, while the kids were sitting down watching TV. !!! Insane. I spoke to the Director and she said it's because it was summer, that in the Fall they didn't really use the TV. BUT I've been in daycares for a while and Summer is supposed to be the fun times when you play outside, have water days, silly hat days. Needless to say, that was the last day they were went to that school.
Crowded VPK rooms, non-existent ratios (meaning it's really 20 to 1) because the assistant is never in the room and uncaring and rude teachers...I'm left amazed this school can charge the prices it does. Is it just the name that parents pay for because it's certainly not any quality whatsoever. Frightening state of affairs.
