My daughter is currently attending this school. Both my husband and I as well as our daughter are very satisfied. We have had great communication with the staff. We love the way they interact with her, and amount of activities they rotate through out the day to keep her busy. She loves all the teachers and is excited to go to school every day.
Our children were enrolled for about 5 months. It was the worst daycare experience we ever had. State guidelines say there should be 1 teacher for every 4 children under 30 months of age. Yet, whenever we dropped off or picked up, the ratio would be twice that amount. Whenever we brought it up to management, we were always told "Sorry. We had a couple of no-shows today." Well, perhaps you need to hire more responsible people. The staff constantly complains about their job. Every teacher saying how miserable it is to work there. And on one occasion, the teacher responsible for watching our child lost her. She wandered away and ended up in the main office. The main office staff kept our child to see how long it would take before the teacher noticed she was gone...but she never did. Management had to go back to the classroom to notify the teacher that she was missing a kid. Management tried to hide the incident from us and never told us about it. A couple of weeks later, one of the staff pulled us aside and told us because she thought we needed to know. This is not a good place to leave your children. On a positive note, they do a lot of field trips for the kids.
Staff needs more training on child development. I am a parent who went to Spencer Beach recently and three staff members with approximately 12 children were at this beach. The professionalism in the way the staff handled children was low. Children were crying for their parents, staff was very unresponsive and disconnected. Did nothing to engage crying children in fun activities. Very sad to see children so upset.
