Ms. Shay, Ms. Griffin & Ms Brent are phenomenal!!! I happen to know the person below that posted a bad review and quite honestly she was an extremely difficult parent. LHLC is known for their patience and the Little Hands staff are very caring, warm and nurturing to the children. The Directors and teachers were so kind since our first day. They gave my child stickers, a huge hug and welcomed her like she was a part of their family. They look out for all the children and I still don't know how they manage to remember everyone's names. They are all in the right field because you can feel the love in the school and the academics are far superior to any other program that we looked at. I am glad we found this school & my daughter enjoys going every day. She cries sometimes when I pick her up since she has so much fun. They give you daily update sheets & place wonderful projects & activities in their bin that the children did throughout the day. I am glad my friend recommended the program to me and I highly recommend this school to other parents. They have many professional parents which are on the same page w/ education & want an environment which gives the children a balance.

LHLC is a great school. My son went there since he was three and my daughter went there since she was 2 and both got into selected enrollment schools. The tuition is slightly higher than other programs but you get so much more. They have dance for the children, fine arts, a curriculum that goes two grade levels above, foreign languages, smartboards and an extremely professional staff. They also have a positive energy that radiates through the school. At first I thought it would be temporary when I signed up, but they maintained this wonderful energy every single day. this is just who they are. Definitely register your child here if you can get a slot. They are usually full becuase so many people know about their great reputation. I am so glad I found out about Little Hands and I can't wait until the all school family picnic in a couple of weeks. One of the many special events that the school does to make you have a wonderful experience. Last year they had pony rides, jumpers and other entertained. We really loved this school!

Beware of this school and realize that Ms.Griffin, Ms. Shay and the others who own and manage the school are primarily concerned with these: profit, image and ease. First, along with a pricey tuition, LLLC will demand a $600 dollar donation. Other expenses will pop up from time to time that serve no real purpose except for LLLC administrators to enrich themselves. Second, LLLC is highly concerned with their image. They try to make it seem that the school is more rigorous than others. The staff does most of the art projects assigned to the students and claims you child did it. At the Shed Aquarium, the exhibits were so high, the children could not see the fish. Third, LLLC attempts to defer work from themselves to you. LLLC demanded that field trips have 100% coverage. That means every other week, I would have to take off a work day to attend a field trip with my child or find a sitter. The purpose of day care is to watch my child while I am at work! What is the staff doing? In sum, Griffin will claim to "love" your child, but in reality, she only loves your check. (It better be a check because there is a 15% charge if you use a credit card!)

As a grandmother of two graduates from LHLC, I can attest that the advanced curriculum at this nurturing school is second to none. The directors and staff are dedicated and provide an atmosphere that is intellectually stimulating and challenging. Individual needs are addressed while providing a bridge that integrates all educational components needed to succeed. The teachers are tuned in to the many ways children learn such as visual, tactile, auditory, linguistic, logical-mathematical, kinesthetic and musical. The learning tasks are provided in many formats that include both gross motor and fine motor skills. The children are encouraged to communicate their ideas, be creative, reason and solve problems. Both interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences are encouraged in a loving professional environment. Fluid reasoning is encouraged as the children express themselves while developing inductive and deductive reasoning skills when engaged in science experiments. As a retired gifted primary teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, I wish that my students in the 70's, 80's and 90's had the opportunity to begin their learning experiences at LHLC.
