Our son attended Morningside for 2.5 years from 2009-2011. The small class size, coupled with the most amazing teacher, who was very nurturing, was amazing! He has made many lasting friendships through his time at Morningside. To this day, he speaks glowingly of his former teacher and wants to visit. His Kindergarten teacher commented how advanced he was and how he knew so much compared to most children his age. Another plus are the parents - you get to know all of the children and parents well through the many children's birthday parties. I wholeheartedly recommend Morningside to any parent looking for a more modified Montessori environment that let's a kid be a kid (run around at recess, get messy with art projects) but embraces all of the traditional elements of a Montessori education that you love.

Two years ago, we moved our son to Morningside after being disenchanted with another preschool in the area. Our son instantly bonded with the teachers and staff at Morningside, and we're happy every day that we made the move. From the creative and broad-based curriculum to the large and well-maintained facilities to the challenging and nurturing teachers, every aspect of his experience has been outstanding. (Morningside also manages to get him to eat stuff he still refuses to eat at home, which we are forever thankful for!) Highly recommended!

We could not be happier with Morningside Academy. The facility is good, the teachers engaged and experienced, the community of parents is wonderful, and the overall preschool experience strikes a great balance of play and preparation. My children are nurtured by teachers who genuinely enjoy them and respect their individual needs and personalities. The curriculum incorporates the best of the Montessori principles without being rigid or over the top. This school is a little gem in our neighborhood and has given us exactly what we'd hoped for in early eductation.

We love this school. They helped our son with potty training, confidence and basic letters and numbers. We have no doubt he will be ready for kindergarten. Plus, he made a bunch of new friends in his neighborhood.

I make a list of items to discuss ahead of time. Then after the conference, I keep in touch. This also depends on how far into the year the conferences are.

First understand that teachers / schools make big deals over EVERYTHING. Second, no one knows your child better than you. Third, keep a frequent line of communication open with the teacher and conferences are just a recap... no surprises.
