I lovew this school. My son was diagnosed with autism and within 7 months of pre-k he began reading and saying words independently when he could not previously say ten words. His social skills are improving, and we feel that our son will be independent.

I have concerns about this school. The curriculum is rigid and boring. My child was not actively engaged in learning. Parent involvement is very good though.

Harvey Kindergarten is a wonderful place for a child to begin learning. Most of the teachers have been there for many years. I attended school there 20 years ago and my daughter had the same teacher that I had. I would recommend Harvey K. to any family.

I make a list of items to discuss ahead of time. Then after the conference, I keep in touch. This also depends on how far into the year the conferences are.

First understand that teachers / schools make big deals over EVERYTHING. Second, no one knows your child better than you. Third, keep a frequent line of communication open with the teacher and conferences are just a recap... no surprises.
