We moved my daughter to this school at the beginning of the school year. I can't say enough about the school. There are so many resources available to the children. They use the Letter People curriculum, have science class, a garden, chickens and bunnies, a full media center, music daily and much more. The other reviews are right on. This is not a daycare. The children at Academy do alot of learning and playing, and the teacher and administration are amazing. It is a small school and everyone knows each other. I would highly recommend to anyone.
My son came to school here for Pre-K2 - Pre-K4. He is now a 4th grader in the gifted program in elementary school and I know it is because of the foundation he recieved at the Academy that he is doing so well. I was so impressed with the school, that when a postion opened up in the office I immediately applied. I knew that working at such a terrrific school was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
My children went to this school. I found it to be the most loving and fun environment for learning. It is an academic school, not a day-care. The teachers were gifted, creative and loving. The resources they have available to the children were very impressive. They had music daily and preformed several impressive programs during the year. I especially loved the Circus they performed. I liked that they are a Christian school and had Chapel once a week where they sang and were taught a bible story via a puppet show. Their playground is large, well equipped and shaded. A plus in Florida. Lots of running room. This is the most amazing feature, they have a full Media Center with learning resources and hundreds of books. Impressive! It's a small school with a very family like atmosphere. The student to teacher ratio was small. The teachers seemed to know all of the children by name and not just the ones in their class. My children got a lot of individual attention. I was very pleased with every aspect of this school and I am so glad I chose it for my children. They recently changed the name & now operate as The Academy of Our Saviour. They are now a certified VPK provider.
Professional staff with great results. Both of my children attended LCOS Pre K 2-4 and have excelled in their current public school environment. Both my son and daughter are reading at levels above their current grade level and both have been awarded student of the month in their respective classes. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at LCOS!
