I went there as a child and my daughter did too. I loved my teacher but now as an adult I realize they did not pay attention at all to my well being. The signs of abuse were obvious, not to mention my vision was horrible and the school just assumed I did not want to learn. The school even did vision tests and did not notice. I was passed grade through grade without learning much because I could not see the board to learn with the rest of the class. My spelling as an adult is horrible, even my kids get a laugh out of it. The classes now days are so large that when my daughters pre-k class went to recess, my child was in the class bathroom and forgotten about! She was locked in the classroom (an outdoor building due to crowded school) by herself for almost an hour before a teacher heard her screaming! She is 7 now and will not go to the bathroom alone at school and at home she has to leave the door open. She is in 1st grade and still can not read and can not spell well either. The schools are over crowded and the teachers are forced to focus on the students who can not speak english while the education of other students (white or hispanic) are neglected.

Staff is great but class sizes, give me a break, my daughter just graduated and she had 23 kids in her class. Teachers having to spend all their time teaching non english speaking kids and the rest of them suffer. Would have my kid somewhere else if choice existed.

I think common core is going to produce a bunch of dumb adults. Once the kids are grown and out in the real world they aren't going to know how to solve any problem without writing out the answer step by step

I think common core will definitely make moving families feel more confident in their school district choices, but I definitely worry about the learning curve as common core is implemented.
