I have to agree with the previous posters review. Although I'm not as upset about the time off (I think the two weeks are for training), I've got to double down on the tyrannical administration. Recently a fine teacher was summarily fired, the reason for her leaving was covered up to the parents, and the teacher was not allowed to say goodbye to the kids under threat of not being paid her last two weeks. This family run daycare chooses tyranny over cooperation with both teachers and parents. Children have had to switch rooms out of the room run by the directors sister because of her incompetence. We should have known better when we received a handbook that states dismissal can occur if parents show disrespect towards the director. This has been changed to the staff generally, which seems reasonable. But additionally gossiping or slandering of TLC as a whole is in there. That's why I waited until we found a new daycare. You never know what someone like that might do.

Teachers are great however the administration is tyrannical and don't seem to realize that parents of their student have jobs that require them to show up for work. Pros: interactive teachers that care Cons: pay for 12 months of care but only receive 10.5 months of services because they take 2 weeks of vacation each year which you pay for but they aren't open. They also are closed 15 holidays meaning you need to find alternative care for those extra days. They cancel daycare whenever the city of Somerville declares a snow emergency ( typically 2-3 days each winter) which you are still charged. Summary: teachers don't make up for the inconveniences this center creates. Advice is to look elsewhere

A schedule will help. Just say "ok its potty time." A schedule is one of the main reason kids seem to magically toilet train when they go to nursery school.
