My daughter and son attended this school and it was a fantastic first school experience for both of them. I knew they were cared about and they flourished in their small classes. The school itself is in the basement of a church and can be a bit dark, but they've done the best they can with the space available. The playground was fantastic. The administrators genuinely care about the families they serve and the teachers are committed to providing a wonderful experience for the children in their care. It's easy to pass by this school, thinking its facilities aren't as new or bright as some of its rivals, but the community spirit found within the school is something that you won't find elsewhere. We moved away from the area nearly 1.5 years ago, and both of my children still ask when they get to go back to their "little school" in Arlington. They have both taken away some wonderful memories of TSEL that, despite their young ages at the time, have stayed with them. That makes a good school in my book.

I make a list of items to discuss ahead of time. Then after the conference, I keep in touch. This also depends on how far into the year the conferences are.

First understand that teachers / schools make big deals over EVERYTHING. Second, no one knows your child better than you. Third, keep a frequent line of communication open with the teacher and conferences are just a recap... no surprises.
