My oldest son attended Grace for two years, and my middle son is in his second year there now. My youngest son will start next year. Grace Cooperative is a terrific preschool -- it's all about "learning through play," which is the most appropriate way for preschoolers to learn. The teachers take the time to get to know each child, and having parents working alongside teachers in the classroom not only reduces the adult:student ratio -- providing for lots of individualized attention -- but also allows parents to see how and what their children are learning. One of the best features of Grace, though, is the incredible sense of community that's fostered there. Multiple school events (marching in the Twilight Parade, picnics, Pumpkin Day, Family Feast day) allow ample opportunities for parents (and children) to connect with each other, and our whole family has gained several strong friendships as a result. Certainly, co-ops are not for everyone; not all parents have the time (or inclination) to work in classrooms. However, for those committed to a cooperative model, I highly recommend Grace Cooperative Preschool.

I have two boys who are Grace Cooperative alum and two more who just started this year. This is not just a preschool, but a community. Parents and educators work together to make the classroom both fun and educational. As a wise politician once wrote, "it takes a village..."; well that's what GCP is! With events outside of the classroom, both on campus and off, GCP has become a social center and a touchstone for the education and the social development of my children as well as my wife and myself. We're fiercely loyal to the people who make this place a go. I'd recommend Grace Cooperative Preschool to anyone who is willing to put into the community as much as they hope to get out of it.

Our two sons attended Grace and our family loved it there. There is a nice sense of community, warm and caring families and teachers, and a play based program that allowed the boys to learn, but still be kids. We recommend Grace to anyone that is able to commit time to the school since it is a cooperative school. Our children were academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for elementary school.

What a wonderful preschool. I was lucky enough to spend four years as a parent at this school with two of my sons. Grace's "Learning Through Play" philosophy allowed my sons to flourish. With open ended play enriched by storytime, art, cooking, music, and science, I have seen the children at Grace develop into well rounded individuals who love learning and who have the social-emotional skills they need to succeed in the larger world. With a lovely garden, a new "natural playground" and a welcoming atmosphere, Grace is really an incredible first school experience.
