Lynn Rutter, the educator of Roots-N-Shoots, is the most gentle and loving spirit I know. She is extremely intuitive and giving. She is also very experienced in teaching and it shows. Lynn truly nurtures each child for their individual gifts and talents. I wish Roots-N-Shoots was around when my son was small so he could attend! Her teaching methods are consistent and research based . Her focus on our environment and our health is refreshing and with the times and just what we need in todays culture. I am lucky enough to observe and assist with art twice a week as a volunteer and believe so much in this school that I spend several hours a week there!

Roots-n-Shoots has been the best decision our family has made this year! If you are looking for a high-quality preschool, this is it. Lynn is highly trained and has a lot of experience in both early education & environmental education. It is obvious that this school is a labor of love for her! Monthly themes inspire local walking-distance field trips, crafts, book choices, play areas, nature-based learning, lots of time outside in her beautiful garden & yard ... everything is very well thought out & centered around the kids' development. Lynn has a way with kids - they flock to her and she teaches them well! The school is small enough that Lynn knows all of the kids very well & can nurture their individual interests & preschooler passions, all the while introducing them to so many new and wonderful things. My son is the oldest in the class (5) and I know that every day he is learning & growing in many ways. He comes home happy & bursting with excitement to tell me what happened that day & what new things he learned.
