Mission Hills Community Pre-School

I miss this school! My daughter went here for one year, and I always liked it but it wasn't until we moved and enrolled in a different school that I fully appreciated it. The teachers are very caring and enthusiastic, you don't get the idea that they 'ended up' there. The director is great and very involved. I like the positive approach; they emphasize what the students are supposed to do and provide positive support. The only problem I had while there was with some of the girls excluding others (i.e., 'you can't play with us' and 'you don't play right'... early mean girls drama!). They did puppet shows about the issue, but I felt like minor discipline is in order for this since it was really upsetting to the kids being excluded (namely my daughter who didn't want to go to a school for nearly a month before she finally told us why). A friend at another school said they told the kids what to do, then separated the kids who were excluding others if the behavior continued. But overall I was really happy at this school and would probably commute there still if it were full days (they do 8:30-12:30 days, T/Th for 2 YOs; M/W/F for 3 YOs; and M-F for pre-K).

This is an excellent pre-school program. My daughter absolutely loves going and would go every day if she could. The teachers are very kind and really care about he children. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.
