My son and daughter both attend the Montrose campus on Waltonia. We've been at GAMC for 4 years and it is a wonderful place. The teachers are nuturing, the staff is committed to working with parents, and the school is NAEYC-accredited. The small class size allows for personalized learning and individual attention. It blends both the traditional and developmental approach to learning. There are optional Yoga and Dance classes and regular instruction in Chinese and Music . We are currenty in the process of looking for kindegarten and after touring many area schools, I find myself looking to replicate what we have had here,

Our daughters, 3.5 years old and 15 months, go to the Montrose campus on Waltonia. Although this school has been at its current location since July 2008 since relocating from downtown Glendale, we've been at GAMC for two years and love it. The school is NAEYC-accredited. There is hardly any turnover with the teachers, who are communicative, warm, loving, nurturing and firm, when necessary. The school caters to working parents, and has a hairdresser come to the school once a month so that parents can sign up their kids for haircuts. A local, well-regarded dance studio has ballet and tap classes for the kids once a week. Our daughters love the school and are becoming self-confident, expressive, responsible citizens who help pick up toys, who say sorry when they've hurt other kids' feelings. The parents are low-key and down-to-earth. We only wish they had kindergarten!

I think common core is going to produce a bunch of dumb adults. Once the kids are grown and out in the real world they aren't going to know how to solve any problem without writing out the answer step by step

I think common core will definitely make moving families feel more confident in their school district choices, but I definitely worry about the learning curve as common core is implemented.
