After using traditional daycare we were looking to transition our 4yo to a real preschool. Phoenix is amazing. In 3 months my daughter has started spelling and writing words. Mrs. Blackford has been teaching montessori method for decades and really knows her stuff. I love that the children use real china and wood. There is not a plastic or electric toy to be found in the place. As a graduate of montessori myself I'm remembering how much I enjoyed it as a child. For about the cost of traditional daycare you child can get a superior education.

Once you step thru the doors and meet Mrs. Blackford (Alice) you know you have found the right place! 3 of my 4 children attended the school Ms. Casey left - I have had students there for over 10 years and it s been an incredibly fulfilling experience for them. you will be hard pressed to offer comparable, exceptional nurturing and the education that my children have received from a very experienced teacher elsewhere.

Absolutely the best Montessori pre-school/kindergarten education in the area. Mrs. Blackford and Mrs. Chaney work together to make this school top in academics and in developing child-to-child interaction. My son has a tremendous amount of confidence in his academic ability going into 1st Grade (this fall) thanks to this great school. He loves learning and school thanks to this great learning environment.

Incredible school. 32 years of parents under the directress agree emphatically. Highest level of authentic Montessori education. Not-for-profit school. Family atmosphere. Can't say enough about it.

In the beginning, i absolutely loved this daycare/preschool. My child was in the care of ms.joyce and he loved it, which in turn made me very comfortable.he was switched because of his age and has been unhappy every since which causes me worry daily

I ask the teacher if she has a job for my son to do. He gets so excited to have a special job assigned to him (like putting out the toys, etc.), that he follows her away to do it which enables me to slip out. Once I'm out of sight, he does great!

This behavior can indicate any number of precursors at various ages. The number one thing each teacher must do is develop a relationship with the parent. The teacher will learn about the parenting practices, the child’s personality, temperament,... More »
