What a disappointing experience! I met with the owner/director twice before making my decision to enroll the children. The owner gave me a packet detailing the summer curriculum: "Library Trips, Art Excursions, Gardening, Splash Days, Special visitors, Spanish, Music, and Movement." During the first two weeks my children complained about how boring it was and none of these activities had started. When asked, the owner said, "I have been busy with out-of town guests, but I am planning some activities. We will go on a field trip to get yogurt and to the park. I am booking some special visitors." NONE of these ever occurred. The children had one library trip and splash day every other week. There were no Art Excursions, Spanish, Music, or Movement. Lastly, my son was pushed down by an older child while outside playing soccer. He was crying about his arm hurting. They gave him an ice pack. When he was picked up no one mentioned his injury. His arm kept hurting so I took him to the ER and it was broken! I reported it to the school and the director never acknowledged the incident. I wouldn't send any child to this school. It was expensive and didn't deliver the activities as promised.

Expose your child to as many activities as they show interest in. They should not be expected to fulfill YOUR dreams. If you support their interest(s) it can grow into a lifelong passion. In turn, they will bond with others who share that interest.

Americans seem to value extroverts more than introverts. I came out of my shell when I found friends and activities that I liked (high school). And it just took off from there. Perhaps shy kids are just pickier about whose company they keep.
