To be quite honest, I thought this was a great center for children. The times I used this facility for drop-in care the staff was friendly and professional. They worked with the situation I was going through and told me they understood where I was coming from fresh from a car wreck and bouncing back and forth between the hospital and family members home with my 3 year old child. Needless to say, my son hit a rough behavior patch trying to adjust to these sudden, extreme changes. Once Head Start in Stonewall no longer offered their services to my family, I thought Your Growing Child would be a good fit for my son, trying to find some sort of routine. Boy was I wrong. I was told in June to apply for CCMS because the wait list was short and they "would have openings come June". Either this was a lie, or they didn't want my child there... I called several times in June, even stopped by in person twice, never to receive any calls back. I kept calling once a week with no returned calls and still being left with the expectation they had openings, as I was told over the phone. Today I finally got a hold of somebody who told me they'd rather not have my child there. Thanks YGC!

I have four children that I've happily entrusted to YGC. Our three oldest children began as toddlers and continued through Elementary School. They all loved going to daycare, had wonderful stories to tell and developed long-lasting affection for their teachers and the staff. The curriculum is appropriate and they allow the teachers to modify it to suit their strengths while still covering all the core concepts. Our youngest started at nine months and is currently enrolled. She continues to receive loving care and support from teachers who are genuinely interested in her and her development. She still invites one of her previous teachers to her birthday party each year. I have never known the facility to be filthy, in fact, for the number of children doing projects and playing together, I find it to be clean. The only times I've seen children running wild are on the playground where I fully expect them to be moving about loudly and happily.

I have 4 grandchildren that have been cared for at this facility since birth. My twin grandsons are now 7 years old. It is a clean and SAFE facility. There is a nice enclosed playground with age-appropriate play areas and toys. The teachers are very caring. The pre-school teachers definitely prepare kids to be successful in kindergarten. The after-school kids have designated times for reading and doing their homework. Their summer programs are filled with field trips too! My grandchildren love it here. When I've gone to pick them up, I've always been impressed. I've enjoyed their Christmas programs and Pre-K graduations too.

I went on a tour of this school. It was filthy, it stunk and the children were running wild. The employees there seemed very unprofessional, they were dressed more like they should have been working in a bar.. I had heard it was a very rough and yucky place, now I know for myself.
