Our daughter attended HGG from the time she was two until she was five and she loved it. Our son has been attending for a year now and is learning a lot. The teachers are excellent, the facilities are very good, and the kids really enjoy being there. They even like the food more than my cooking! Our daughter learned so much at HGG that she has done fabulously in kindergarten and first grade. I can't say enough good things about this school.
My son has attended this school since he was two. At last we found a school that was willing to work with me and my son's unpredictable and sometimes challenging behavior. We currently reside in San Ramon and went through two prescools there that were not willing to work with the normal behaviors of a two year old. This school is so amazing it is worth the travel time to Castro Valley. He will definitely attend this school until he enters kindergarten here in San Ramon. I am truly blessed that my son and I are part of the His Growing Grove family, yes family, that is how the teachers and faculty make your child and each parent feel. If you want a certified preschool in the area who TRULY care about children and if you want peace of mind that your child is in the BEST environment this is the school for your child and you.
Amazing environment and education - great quality place. My son is now in Kindergarten and went from Age 3 through 5 - he was very well prepared. My daughter is now 3 (and in room 3) and has been at His Growing Grove since she turned 1. Highly recommended place.
I've been very happy with His Growing Grove, a Presbyterian church in Castro Valley. My two year old goes there two days a week. They alternate free play time in two outdoor play areas and a gym, combined with structured activities such as art projects, spanish class, etc. They offer breakfast, lunch and noontime snacks. They do potty training. They give you a written report on how your child has done at school at the end of each day. The staff seems caring with a good ratio of kids to teachers and there doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover. I don't have personal experience with them in a younger age group, but this past weekend was talking with a mom who had her son there from infancy onwards and she said their infant and toddler care was really great.
