Director of Destiny Kid Academy I have decided it is time to write from our point of view. First of all, when parents are asked to find another Daycare because of their child's behavior problems in school they become disgruntled and very negative towards the school. We never ask a child to leave without first putting in to place a behavior plan which requires the cooperation of the parents. If after several weeks this does not work they are asked to leave so that all the children in the class may have the opportunity to learn without disruption for the other kids safety. If a child is moved to another class it is because we are trying to find a spot where it may be a better fit for him. We will also do this before we ask them to leave. We definitely are not a babysitting facility, our children have a schedule - curriculum with lesson plans that are followed. Most of the Children when leaving the Academy for public or private school test 1 year or more above their grade level. Teachers only use cell phones to call the Lead Teacher or the Director when they need help in the classroom. We watch on camera and they are NOT on their cell phones for any other reason.

By far the worst daycare I have ever had to encounter. The director is very negative, my child was always in different classes, I saw teachers on cell phones. My child didn't learn anything there. It's basically a babysitting facility that wants to get paid. Think twice before thinking to enroll in this daycare!!

Destiny Kids Academy has been a loving, caring and nurturing environment that fosters Christian principals. The food served has to follow guidelines already set in place. The choices are no different than other schools and are exactly what the kids may eat when away from the Academy. Perhaps looking at the big picture will help. "WAY TO GO" Destiny as you keep our loved ones SAFE and SECURE. Thank You for teaching, training and positioning our children for success.

In response to the last review on the meals served at Destiny Kid Academy, I am the food program manager and we are participants in the CACFP program and all of our meals, with the exception of our morning snack, this program helps pay for. They tell us what foods we can and can not purchase and all of our meals have to have certain elements from the food groups for them to be approved for us to serve. as for morning snack, because we serve breakfast we do not have to serve a morning snack but that is something we choose to do for our children and we do our best not to serve snacks that have a lot of sugar even then. I have been with the Academy for almost 7yrs., the amount of time the Academy has been open, and we have never had a parent complain about our menu. Our parents are always welcome to ask questions if they have one about our menu are they are certainly welcome to bring food for their child if they don't like what we serve. I do my best to put together 1) meals that will meet the requirements of the food program and 2) in meeting those requirements, meals I feel our children will eat so that money is not wasted. I just wanted to give a truthful perspective .

I think common core is going to produce a bunch of dumb adults. Once the kids are grown and out in the real world they aren't going to know how to solve any problem without writing out the answer step by step

I think common core will definitely make moving families feel more confident in their school district choices, but I definitely worry about the learning curve as common core is implemented.
