This is a great school. My son has been here for 4 years now and has grown by leaps and bounds. The development both on a personality as well as academic front has been a joy. The staff is very caring, involved and cordial. When you see smiling and satisfied teachers, with a very low turnover that tells me a lot about the school. I would highly recommend this school to all.
We moved to Allen 2 years ago. We had our girls in a Primrose in Richardson, so we were very familiar with the top notch curriculum and had hoped the transition would be easy for the kids. The teachers took an immediate liking to the girls - helped them adjust, let them help in the classroom, etc.. to make them feel welcome and important. The teachers develop caring bonds with our children and make them feel important, welcome and loved. My youngest daughter begged me to take her up to school to see her pre-school teacher on our Christmas vacation, since she had missed her so much. Our oldest daughter started Kindergarten ahead of her peers - I attribute this to Primrose.
We began our search early in the summer last year. The owner gave us a tour and answered all of our questions. Later that week, the director contacted us to help answer any additional questions we might have. We found Primrose West Allen to be the right place for us and started our girls in August 2010. We love the facility for so many reasons. The staff is incredible!!! The teachers and directors are so open to discuss any needs or issues. The open door policy is amazing unlike most preschools. We love that learning is the focus rather than babysitting It is a school that teaches and nurtures. We have our girls in the kindergarten program and the young toddler program. We have and will continue to recommend Primrose West Allen to any parents searching for a really strong learning and caring environment for their children.
My now 8 year old daughter attended Primrose from 3 months of age through Private Kindergarten and my 4 year old son is now in Pre-K there. We've really enjoyed the school, although there has been some teacher turnover over the years. Their Pre-K and Private Kindergarten programs are excellent and worth the wait as the teaching staff is seasoned at those level. Overall, the teachers are nurturing and show genuine affection toward the children and the programs are challenging and engaging, especially Private K which quite literally over-prepares kids for 1st grade. It can be a bit pricey and more if you add on some of the voluntary extra-curricular activities each month. Overall, above avg to excellent school for the money and the kids will have fun as well.
