My son attends this school and I am very pleased with it. More importantly, he loves it! I have found the staff very helpful and friendly, and they have a lot going on. They are making an outdoor classroom complete with a garden including veggies and herbs that the children will cook with and eat. They are also into educating the children about making healthy food choices which i think is great.
As a professional Social Worker with vast experience working with young children and adolescence and parent of a child who attended Riverhead Country Day School, I would like to share my concerns with other parents considering a day care program. This school demonstrated a lack of professionalism when dealing with me and the behavioral issues of my child. The high spiritedness of my child was not encouraged but rather treated with disrespect and appeared to be targeted. I was consistently criticized on my parenting skills until eventually I felt I had no other choice but to remove my child from this unhealty environment. My child is now at a new program and is happy, healthy and thriving.
