The staff that take care of my child are wonderful, however the owner is a piece of work. They are suppose to do a monthly newsletter, and i have only seen one 3 times during the time we have been there. read the agreement carefully, as it is very threatening and has a ton penalties for numorous minor things. They have lost our payment, they have lost items that belong to my child (that have his name on it), I have been sent home with other children's items, I have seen the owner yelling and arguing with staff, (it is a wonder that there are decent people working there), and if you have anything negative to say, you are told to consult your parent manual. Too bad there aren't more places open early, otherwise I would be leaving just because of the owners attitude. I want my child to feel safe (no bikering amongst staff in front of children and parents), and parents to feel like they honestly know what is going on (provide a newsletter ROUTINELY). They place runs better when the owner is absent, she should have a hands off approach.

By the way, the review on November 7, 2012, sounds like the owner talking. I don't know a single parent that takes their child to Greenwood that has ever said anything but negative comments about the owner. Every week they serve McDonald's hamburgers, and Little Caesars Pizza. For 4 months straight, all the infants/transitioners got for snack was graham crackers. The owner belittles everyone that walks into that facility and when she hears that the "State" is coming in, she makes sure everyone is doing exactly what they should be and fixes anything that shouldn't be happening that she previously didn't care about. All this woman cares about it is Benjamin Franklin. She won't even inform parent's if their child has had a rough day (i.e. cried for a good portion) because she want's everyone to think this place is wonderful and all children just have this unconditional love for it. I saw once, the owner got an inch away from one of her management staff and basically growled at her. Pathetic and sickening. I am not at all happy with the way that business is ran. It could be an amazing school! It has so much potential! With a new owner!!

This place is a joke. I have never seen a place that treats children like cattle such as this place. They are penned off in areas by barn fencing and yet are allowed to run wild in these areas. The reason they ask for ID when an unfamiliar person comes to pick up a child is because its the LAW! They are not doing it to be the best they can be. This place should be shut down for the way they run this place. They will move children to fit their number ratios. Moving a 3 year old to a 2 year old class because they are under staffed for the number of children they have in one penned area. I yanked my child out of there when I found out they were serving the children McDonald's for lunch on Fridays! I don't send my child their to be fed junk. This place is a zoo! I am sorry for parents who feel this is a safe environment for their children. Please know there are much more qualified out there. They deserve no stars!

My children have been coming to this school for a couple of years. I have been impressed since the first time I walked in the door. It is a secure facility, they ask for ID whenever anyone besides the parents pick up the child, and they have a keypad on the one door that opens from the outside. There is lots of space, lots of things to do, and structure appropriate to the children's age. The staff is caring and attentive. No other place that I have seen holds a candle to Greenwood.

In the beginning, i absolutely loved this daycare/preschool. My child was in the care of ms.joyce and he loved it, which in turn made me very comfortable.he was switched because of his age and has been unhappy every since which causes me worry daily

I ask the teacher if she has a job for my son to do. He gets so excited to have a special job assigned to him (like putting out the toys, etc.), that he follows her away to do it which enables me to slip out. Once I'm out of sight, he does great!

This behavior can indicate any number of precursors at various ages. The number one thing each teacher must do is develop a relationship with the parent. The teacher will learn about the parenting practices, the child’s personality, temperament,... More »
