I love Lycoming Nursery School! All three of my children attended and it was nice to always feel welcome to join in the classroom activities. I always felt as though the church, although old, was wonderful. Each classroom had abundant windows, which even makes the gloomy winter days feel brighter, child-size sinks and convenient toilets. The "big room" was a great space where the entire class could run , climb and burn up energy with their friends. The teachers follow PA Early Learning Standards and the school is licensed by PA Dept of Ed., one of the few preschools in the area to be. Teachers are caring, creative and make each child feel special.

The little nursery school is interesting. They have many things going for them strong parent involvement (in fact it is parent run), child centered curriculum, nuturing staff. It also has a few negatives, It is housed in a charming old church, but it is truely rather run down. My daughter's head teacher was inexperienced and although caring, not especially cut out for the age group she was teaching. In seeing some the other teachers, I realized they were probably better, so I think it was more that particular class than a school wide problem. The aide in the classroom was actually more early childhood oriented. I think the teacher would have been better with older kids.
