Update to October 2011 post As a parent with children at the Norhteast YMCA safety and care is a priority! Even with a "bad apple" amongst excellent teachers, I can't imagine an extreme act of duct taping anyone, occuring at this facility. There is an open door policy where parents can visit any time. If a contact for a complaint is needed then go online to 1) the PA Dept of Education OCDEL Dept, 2) Keystone Stars Southeast Regional Dept or 3)Naeyc Accreditation Dept. The YMCA is a great place for children to learn and grow. The reason for my original post, that contained the following, was to support the parent community and to encourage co-worker alertness amongst teachers; Oct/2011 Post Multiple injuries on equipment that's not age appropriate, has stopped. More experienced teachers. Teacher to student ratio has exceeded 1:10 on numerous times, a teacher was complaining about this, plus I counted. Mrs. Rose is great along with other teachers. But there is a teacher (Miss. H) who seemed to be gloomy and troubled with personal problems, who became frustrated with a few students. Our children deserve a pleasent environment along with the co-workers affiliated to this teacher.

I'm considering enrolling my daughter into the YMCA pre-k program. But beside a few excellent teacher reviews, I'm a little concerned about having a bad apple watch over my daughter. The last thing I want is to be told my daughter was duct taped to a chair by a disgruntled teacher. So how can I avoid having my daughter assigned to an aggresive teacher or if necessary, how would I report a teacher who has mistreated a student? Parents please advise. Thank you.
