My daughter has been attending this school for 3 years and will continue with the before and after school program upon starting Kg. They have been a stable, encouraging and supportive environment for my child. They focus on life skills and learning by example. My daughter has separation anxiety and they are fully capable of calming and reassuring her of my return. My daughter has developed a love of the outddoors, loves to help care for the chickens, is happy to tell of her day's activities and what she has learned. They inspire creativity. They provide morning and afternoon snack as well as lunch which is typically vegetarian and organic. I consider every person who works at this school to be a friend and I think of them as extended family. The school is modeled after the Waldorf school and day is structured and inspired by art.
Sheltering Arms has a great home atmosphere. They are situated in a private spot yet still convenient to the rest of the world. It has a huge yard with garden, trees to climb, sandbox to play in, swings to swing and the chicken coup with chickens. Teachers are caring and watchful of the kids. Both of my children went there and I really recommend it.
