Our daughter has been going to CPC for about 8 months now and we love it. She is in the toddler aka "Penguin" room (for 1.5-3 year olds) and the teachers Annie, Jackie and Emily are very caring and informative about our daughter and her progress in their room. They do daily activities together such as crafts, drawing, building and assembling things, singing and dancing, etc. and also allow the kids free time to explore their own ideas around the room at various stages throughout the day. Sometimes my daughter pretends to cook and take care of baby dolls in her free time, for example. They take the kids outside a couple of times a day to play and exercise and everything is as organized as it can be with kids this age. As another parent mentioned, they write a journal entry at the end of every day to let us know what their day was like and they also write down how long of a nap they had and how large of an appetite they had for the day. We're going to be moving this year so we'll have to take her out of CPC, but that will be a sad day because they have been great to us and our daughter. <3
The good part of this center is that they provided quality lunches and they don't have too many fund raising activities. But they are not very well managed and the teachers had attitude. We only went to the toddler room for 1.5 years and decided to pull out. Examples like when my daughter came home with deep bright red bite marks w/o accident report we went to talk to them and the answers we got was that it is not possible for the teachers to watch every minute and they would assure us they would comfort out child when she was crying. but no apology. Also they wouldn't let her to have her snack and made her watch other kids eating because she was not listening... We were very disappointed and would not recomment thisplace to anyone. By the way they were taken off the NAEYC list about 2 years ago.
This is the third daycare that our child has attended, but it is the first true 'child care' program that we've encountered. The teachers are obviously here because they care about educating children - not just to draw a paycheck. They communicate the kids' day clearly through a posted journal, which helps to understand the large portion of her day that we miss (she just turned 2 and cannot clearly communicate everything herself). In addition, she is blossoming under their help; she is becoming more and more self-sufficient, which would not have happened as easliy if it were left to us on the evenings and weekends. She also has food allergies that necessiate keeping an Epi-Pen, Jr. on hand, and they staff have been tremendous in dealing with the additional paperwork, training, and watchfulness warranted by her allergies. She is always excited to see her teachers and friends.
My 2 yr. old granddaughter has attended CPC for about 8 mos. and the maturity and growth in all facets of her behavior in that period of time is remarkable! She is very happy there and looks forward to going to school every day! We are all so proud of her! Her mom and dad made a great choice in CPC and they now have peace of mind knowing she is in capable, caring, loving hands!
We checked out dozens of programs before we settled on CPC. It's even better than we hoped. Our daughter loves it. The staff is attentive and every student and family gets personalized attention. You and your child will love this school.
