This is a wonderful, nurturing school. Both my kids are enrolled here. I can tell you that while the building is old, it is clean, and the environment in the nest and other rooms is very well thought out. The teachers and principal are dedicated to the well being of the children there, as well as attending educational conferences to make the school better and better. You can see how involved they are with the kids, the classes are small, and my kids are doing great.

I am confused by the complaints about going outside and using real tools, this is a must in the Montessori Method and was fully explained at our school tour before we enrolled. It is a reason we chose the school. The parent manual says that the students go outside in all weather, except lightning and wind chill advisories. Also, confused about "only interested in tuition," as when we were having financial hardships she gave us a break AND allowed us to work off tuition. The "Nest" is not in a hallway, there are no hallways in the school. The doors are locked during the day. It is an old building, but I will pick amazing teachers over a fancy building any day. The principal could not be more accessible, we can BBM, text, email, or call during the school day. For my 4.5 yo daughter she is reading, multiplying, and many people in public think she is 7 because she is so mature. This would not have happened anywhere else, I don't think.

I love it! The teachers are all involved and happy to see our son. He feels welcome. He also started at a traditional school but did not do well. He trives at Jane's. I like that the kids spend time out doors exploring. Obviously from other reviews, this is not the place to take your kid if you want him/her on lock down. Let your kids thrive!

Please, Please BEWARE!! This school building is old and filthy! The so called "principal" is only interested in her own child and in your tuition! The place is never cleaned and their policy of "always going outside" does not sit well with me when this past winter had days in the negative temps. Please, do yourself and your child a favor and go to a real school, or spend the time at home with your child teaching him or her yourself. Your child will be better off in the long run.

You have to be kidding! Who in the world would give this school anything less than an average rating. The building is old, no security doors, kids are allowed to play with real, metal garden tools with little or no supervision, and it is next to impossible to call this so called school and get a real person on the line.

I give this school an average rating. There are no security locks on the doors to prevent people from entering the center, you can call the school to leave a message on thier voicemail but it is very rare a staff member will pick up the phone while schools in session (I found this to be strange and alarming). The baby room (called the nest) is located in the hallway and IS NOT a classroom. There are some possitive things about the academy, but IMO the online reviews about this school is mostly hype. Check out and compare other montessori and traditional daycare/preschools before deciding on this one.

My child struggled in a traditional setting, but is thriving here at Jane's. The change was almost immediate. He has the freedom to choose his activities, but must complete them in a certain way (structure). He is also learning how to control his emotions and is developing socially. Academically, all of the teachers are very interested in how to reach each child. My child loves science-- and the after school activities have challenged and inspired him. I can't say enough good things about this school!

My daughter hust completed her first year at Jane's. We could not be happier with the progress she has made. Her self-discipline has greatly improved since she began there, as has her verbal and math skills. One of the teachers specializes in art education and my husband and I cannot believe the sophisticated projects she works on. Another teacher speaks several languages and has been working with her on Spanish. Did i mention she is only four years old. The principal is a strict observor of the Montessori method and I, for one, am convinced of it's effectiveness. I definitely think Jane's is preparing my child for the future.
