I was referred to this daycare by a cousin of mine whose daughter attended. I figured with the location and price point, it should pan out to be better than "fly by night", cheap babysitting services disguised as a daycare. Boy was I wrong. I loved the teacher whose classroom my daughter was in, however the Director and Assistant Director were deceptive. They would tell me one thing and then do something else several times. So much so, I felt the need to do "pop ups" 3-4 times a week in addition to drop off and pick up times. Needless to say, after a week of regular drop offs, pick ups, and Pop Ups, I removed my child from this facility all together. My child was moved around from different classrooms throughout the day and the director gave the lamest excuses for this. On top of that, the director was very rude and impersonal. She didn't seem to truly care about my feelings as the mom. She basically would tell me what she thought I wanted to hear. But those random "pop ups" revealed a lot. This experience for me was back in 2006 or 07. This scarred me greatly. WE now have an almost 4 year old son, whom stays home with me and will hopefully start Prek soon!
Very poor leadership, and an ever rotating door of teachers. My child bounced between three classrooms depending on how crowded her registered class was. There was a recent lice episode but we didn't receive any communication because my daughter was constantly shifting rooms. When I came to pick her up, I found kids blankets and jackets left piled on the floor for lack of space; of course making the episode that much worse. The teacher shrugged and said there aren't any other options because of space, and that the teacher can't continually go between classrooms for things like coats and blankets. Being new to the community, I didn't know what other options there were, or just how poorly the community views this particular school and it's leadership. I have now found a private school for the same money that is a five star program with HALF the teacher;student ratio and a teacher that my child adores. After 9 months of patiently waiting with Sunshine House through "growing pains" for their staff I finally had to put my child in a better environment. Please research surrounding schools... there are better options for the same money.
