This school is truly an extension of the family. We have been nothing but pleased having our children there (even as infants- the ladies who are in the infant room are the absolute best)! We looked long and hard before putting our children into childcare, and we have been nothing but impressed. Everyone is warm and friendly- it is a wonderful environment!

12/22/11 Goddard School in Cornelius is Wonderful by lakemommy3 at Citysearch I have 3 children. One just graduated this past June. She started kindergarten reading at a 3rd grade level. She knew all of the spelling words for all of first and was started on middle of 2nd grade spelling words. She now attends The Goddard School of Lake Norman's afterschool program. I credit all of her educational accomplishments to The Goddard School. I have 2 other children who are in the T-K classroom and one in one of their 2 year old classrooms. I have had nothing but postivie experiences. All of the parents I am friends with (and I have 3 children) have only had positive experiences here.

I wanted to take the time to write this for any parents that may be looking for daycare or even had these problems in the past. Please think twice about sending your child to this school. The other reviews are correct. They are all about quantiy and NOT quality. The school is messy and poorly run. The director is cold and unresponsive as well as uninformed on many subjects. We left this school and we are VERY happy we did. Now I just want to put this out there so no other parents are duped by this school. I know not everyone will have this experience, but we did so you could too.

We have had two children at the Goddard School full time or part time (summer camp) for the last 7+ years. Overall, we have been very happy with the teachers, staff, and facility. Many of the staff are related to each other so it's a true family business. My children are safe and well cared for when at the Goddard School. They learn manners and respect. The teachers make great effort to clean and disinfect the classrooms and toys each night, especially during cold and flu season. We've only had a couple of minor issues over the last 7-8 years and appreciate the staff and teachers hard work during this time.

My children and I love the Goddard School in Cornelius. My two children attend there now and I couldn't be happier. We are all greeted warmly by the entire staff, and everyone seems to know the children by name, not just the teachers in their classroom. They learn so much everyday and I am so relieved to have found a warm, caring school for my children while I am at work all day. Thanks Goddard!

I totally disagree with nov. 18 & jan 14th reviews of The Goddard School. I have found the director to be very plesant and available. The teachers are educated and have taught my children so much. My older children were reading before they started kindergarten. My youngest is still there and is more advanced than all of my friend's children who attend other preschools. The teachers treat(ed) my children like they were their own. They were/are always available, warm and wonderful. I would HIGHLY recommend this preschool.

I totally agree with November 18, 2008 review of the school. I found the Director to be very cold and the schools only concern is quantity not quality The teaching staff was very inadequate for what I was looking for for my child. I would not consider this a 5 star school, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

I found the director to be very disengaged and moody. I'm used to pre-school being an extension of the family and a warm and loving environment. She set a very negative tone. The teachers were not comfortable speaking with the parents, so they copied off a report about what the children did with a personal blurb that read, 'Susie enjoyed playing outside with her friends,' which is way too vague to be useful. They were supposed to use positive reinforcement for discipline, but in my child's class they made them throw the stickers they had earned in the trash if they misbehaved. I will not send my youngest child there.
