Open Door Nursery School

Our son is completing the 3 year old program and has grown immensely in a year. The program encourages group interaction and prepares the children for their jump into pre k. The staff is top notch and give the students individual attention as needed. We highly recommend Open Door Nursery School and could not be happier with the results.

The best gift I ever gave my son is the Kindergarten Readiness class at Open Door. With a late November birthday, he could have gone to Kindergarten when he was 4, but I just knew he wasn't ready. Today's kindergarten is like what I recall 1st and even 2nd grade to be: full day, little free play time, reading groups and math homework. He loved his class there and the transition to kindergarten could not have been easier - he was READY! He is now a 5th grader and has done so well in school, both academically and socially. He is facing middle school next year with confidence and I believe a big part of that is the great start he received at Open Door. This class is the only one like it in our area. If you are on the fence about whether or not to send your child to kindergarten, send him to Open Door. Nobody regrets waiting one more year but there are lots of families with struggling kids who wish they had. I loved the experience so much, when the chance came up to be a teacher at Open Door, I jumped at it! I have been there for 6 years now and it has been an honor to work in such a great environment with such great professionals who have the children's best interests at heart.

Open Door Nursery School is a great school in which our children had the necessary skills both socially and academically needed for when they enter kindergarten. You can't find a more nurturing learning environment than you do at Open Door. The teachers are caring and loving getting all students to participate even the shy students like my son.

Magical, creative, nurturing and fun! The one thing that truly sets Open Door apart from other pre schools is the heart of the teachers. They love what they do and it shows.

All four of our children have attended Open Door Nursery School. The warm, loving and nurturing environment of Open Door created the love for school that our children possess. Both my son and daughter have attended Open Door. We loved this school! The three year old program is outstanding. The program has two wonderful teachers. We have had both teachers; they are caring, attentive, and full of creative learning. The teachers aid, who helps in both classes, is so hands on, she really cares and helps the kids. My son was also in the Pre-k (Kindergarten readiness) program, and we thought that class was wonderful too. The teacher is enthusiastic and attentive, and works with the children to give them all of the necessary skills they will need; beginning writing, reading, and critical thinking. No matter which class they are in, while the children are learning, it is also fun, there is plenty of play and a big gym to work the wiggles out. Both of my children enjoyed their time at Open Door. They came away with wonderful first memories of school, good friendships, and lessons taught by amazing teachers.

Open Door Nursery School is a special place. The teachers are wonderfully caring and nurturing. It is a back-to-basics preschool that will remind you of when you went to school, with hugs and hellos as you walk in the door and focus on learning through play. The rooms are large and bright with sunlight, full of natural materials and toys. They have an amazing upstairs gym with wagons, trikes, climbing aparatus, etc, and have gym daily. My son is in the PreK, a Kindergarten Readiness program for children who turn 5 in the summer and fall. There are two certified teachers for this class of 12 children, focused on developing independent skills, socially, emotionally, and academically for kindergarten. It is a 3 hour program, Monday-Thursday. My son is really blossoming there.
