I just hear from a friend that they are now adding as conditions to their scholarships that they go and write positive reviews of the school. This is just desperate. There are so many great alternatives to this formerly great school. Don't waste your money.

I agree with the few others who are reporting the down fall of this school lately. It is as if it is being run by accounts, not people who love children. It is emotionless and sterile. Once more over it does not seem to be very safe. Between the enormous amount of high level staff leaving (it seemed we got a note all the time telling of another one leaving) It has left the teacher who we needed to move our child from in charge. While many of the teachers are terrific, it is simply a roll of the dice as there is no consistency between classrooms. Now that the teacher who we liked the least is in charge i am sure it will continue to roll down hill. Once more I am friends with many families who are afraid to say anything as several children have been asked to leave, or as condition of their scholarships they were asked to go and write positive reviews of the school. That is incredibly desperate.

My 4-year-old goes to Alcott School on Crane Rd. The school is not huge but has all necessary facility and resources, including a gym and a couple of playgrounds. They also offer a variety of after shcool programs like soccer and music. The greatest thing about the school is of course the teachers. All four teachers in her class are excellent educators. They are caring and loving, and use various opportunities to help establish the important principles in the children. They also holding very impressive activities. E.g. the birthday in the classroom at Alcott is the best I've ever had. The child has the opportunity to display the past 4 or 5 years of his/her life with photos and stories. It help the kids become more confident and know one another better. We feel lucky to send our daughter to Alcott.

My oldest son currently goes to Alcott and I will be sending my youngest as soon as he is old enough. The review below mine is a disgruntled parent who wrote the same review on every single site she could. Ever since Mandy Price became in control I will admit the administration is not what it used to be but overall I am so happy with how good the teachers are and how much my kid loves school!

This school has prepared my child for Kindergarten well. My daughter was able to get into all 4 private schools we applied to for Kindergarten. I give credit to the motivation of the teachers and other teaching staff. My husband and I truly recommend this school to everyone with a preschool-aged child. You will be amazed with what they will be able to do by the end of their prekindergarten year.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
